**In order to ensure the safety of our patients during the pandemic, we have closed our facility and will resume Medical Nutrition Therapy with a Registered Dietitian virtually. Please call for more information and to schedule an appointment.**
C.A.R.E. for Crohn's Nutrition Resource Center is a wellness facility working to bring better health to the community. The NRC is more than a place for those living with digestive diseases, but it is a movement looking to bring resources for people to live a more health conscious lifestyle, with therapeutic outlets that fuel the mind, body and soul.
We offer services and programs throughout the year including medical nutrition therapy and diet counseling with a Registered Dietitian, workshops and educational seminars, cooking demos, yoga, creative therapy and more. We create a comfortable environment where it is cool to be healthy, and unshameful to talk about digestion and mental health.
The Nutrition Resource Center caters to children and adults, of all economic levels. No person will be turned away from our programs and with the help of our donors and supporters, we will provide assistance to individuals and families who can not afford to participate in our services.
Crohn's Disease is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that affects the lining of the digestive or gastrointestinal (GI) tract. It may occur anywhere from the mouth to the end of the rectum (anus), causing pain, inflammation and
tissue injury to the intestine.
There is no specific diet for Inflammatory Bowel Disease, but there are certain trigger foods that can be avoided to alleviate intestinal symptoms, especially during a flare. The Nutri-Corner is a guide of what foods to abstain to self-manage your disease, reduce gastrointestinal symptoms, and promote intestinal healing.
Our mission is to provide resources and supportive services to individuals living with Crohn’s Disease or Ulcerative Colitis. We strive to provide the necessary tools to improve their quality of life through education on the importance of nutrition and a healthy lifestyle.
